Kyo-insho/Seals: Shoko Kawai (Kawamasa Inbou)
After marrying Yoshihiko Kawai, the owner of a seal shop named Kawamasa Inbou, I began to carve seals. This made me realise how enjoyable it is to concentrate on working and the depths that hand-carving holds, so I started to study the craft in earnest. Even after I became certified as a First Level Skilled Seal Carver, I continued to regularly seek knowledge from veteran artisans. Now, I still strive to cultivate my techniques at a higher level. Making seals that leave a beautiful impression is a given, but I also hope to create seals that have a beauty in and of itself.
